West & Rucker Wedding, New Braunfels Texas

I still consider myself as a newbie to San Antonio and especially to New Braunfels. Living here in Texas has really challenged my view on location and style. So when Maria and Jody contacted me for their very industrial wedding I couldn’t be more excited to be apart of their big day. The ceremony took place at the beautiful historic Saint Joseph’s Chapel in Schertz, Texas. http://schertz.com The chapel built in 1941 was the perfect backdrop for this small intimate wedding.

After the vows were done the whole group did an impromptu shoot outside of the chapel in a small field. The lighting was gorgeous on this very hot April day for wedding photography. I find it so funny how the weather here is so comparable to Oklahoma. Just 6 weeks prior to the wedding we were freezing in the chapel at our pre consultation appointment and couldn’t wait to get to the second venue!

As a San Antonio wedding photographer it was more then excited to travel to our next location. It was at the nostalgic LRCA build now know as the Landmark Lofts in New Braunfels, Texas. http://landmarklofts.com. We are able to access some very beautiful spaces in this building. Small window light added very glamourous and soft style to the overall formal look. The soaring ceilings seemed to be a challenge in the beginning,  how to make such an industrial building seem soft and light for a wedding had me wondering. Maria and her planners had just the right amount of ethereal decor to balance out the whole act.

Lastly, what better way to finish off the night then with lots of dancing and a beautiful song written and sang by the brides brother and sister. The whole room filled with love and compassion of friends and family at times were overwhelming emotional. (Hope my second shooter didn’t catch me crying!) I am so honored to have been apart of this families big day! I hope them all the warmest wishes and joys!
